EXPOSE THE HATE CAMPAIGN AGAINST ISLAM
The following hate email I received recently about Islam is one of a number circulating, some of which may well emanate from the BNP or similar groups. The incident quoted is almost certainly bogus, with the location changed to suit the country of circulation and no date – just ‘last month’. No names are given to the people who spoke and no actual John Harrison can be linked to the email. I have found similar fictions on forums going back to 2008.
It is a lie that ‘most imams have declared a holy war against non-Moslems’.
It is a lie that ‘All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not a follower of Allah’. If it were true, why are there large Christian populations in, for example, Egypt, Syria or Jordan?
The suggestion that by 2029 there will be a Moslem majority in the UK is risible.
Currently Moslems make up about 2.7% of the population of the UK. Most of them vote Labour, Conservative or Lib Dem, none of which parties supports Sharia law. The UK Moslem population is certainly rising both through immigration and a certain amount of conversion. However, there is considerable uncertainty as to future numbers of UK Moslems. For example, some may secularise in western society.
According to Religious Trends, a comprehensive statistical analysis of religious practice in Britain published by Christian Research, by 2050 there will be 2,660,000 active Muslims in Britain - nearly three times the number of Sunday churchgoers. This is really into guess work, but since the population may be 70 million or so by that time it is hardly likely to lead to an imposition of Sharia law.
This is a really nasty, ignorant piece of email propaganda written with the intention of stirring up hatred.

"The Uncomfortable Definition of an Infidel..... There was no disagreement with my statement and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!' I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not a follower of Allah, so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?' |
This incident happened in London"
